expensive houseAn interesting project I hope to be involved in has crossed my desk.  Its not every day around here where somebody wants to build a 12,000 sq.ft. home, yet an email arrived from a German architectural firm looking for someone local to perform structural and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) engineering on such a home.  I won’t be posting any images of the real thing, and I don’t yet know who the owner is, but the photo is similar to the style and here are the specs.

  • 12,000 sq.ft.
  • 7 bedrooms
  • 5 full and 2 half baths
  • dining room seating 14
  • 6 car garage
  • 2 living rooms
  • office/library
  • kitchen with adjacent lounge
  • 10′x25′ pantry
  • 350 sq.ft. laundry room
  • indoor and outdoor pools
  • sauna
  • gym
  • spa
  • juice bar
  • wine tasting room
  • wine cellar
  • dressing room
  • panic room
  • elevator
  • hydronic heating and cooling
  • modern “green” styling

The German firm checked out as legit, and there are some German owned industries in the area, so a proposal for services was sent back.  Hopefully something will come of it.
