Dead Snow, mentioned earlier here, was a hoot and a half.  In Norwegian with English subtitles, and Rated R for graphic violence, it straddled the line of conventional zombie horror and zombie camp comedy with some over the top scenes of bloody carnage.

The first scenes are of a young woman running through a snowy woods being pursued and ultimately caught by someone or something. We never see what it was.  Cut to 7 medical students on their way through the mountains to a cabin belonging to one of their friends who is hiking in separately.  Considering the first scenes, she’s unlikely to make it.

Once at the cabin, the main group is surprised by a late night visitor, a man who warns them of the evil history of the place and its connection to Nazi soldiers from World War II.  Naturally they don’t heed his warnings and proceed to have their fun in the snow with snowmobile and sledding.

Of couse, the zombies are awakened and traditional zombie mayhem ensues.  Although these zombies don’t seem to be so interested in brains.  Their delicasy is intestines.  You’ll get to see plenty of that.  These are also thinking, fast moving zombies more along the lines of 28 Days/Weeks Later than Romero’s shambling kind.
