Short URLs, those randomized web addresses used for space savings and common in Twitter posts, are a big convenience to the Twitter poster because they leave more characters available for the post itself. But where are you going to find yourself after clicking that short URL? Maybe its a Myspace page you have no interest in, or a link to some shady overseas site. If you want to see where you’re going before you click, try the Long URLs Please add-on for Firefox.
With Long URL Please installed, this is what you see.

The add-on works for 79 shortening services. Alas, it won’t work with shortened URLs made through a customized installation like I’m using with YOURLS.
