Ubuntu Tweak Overview

by on Apr.29, 2009, under Uncategorized

tweak3I installed the Ubuntu Tweaks package this evening and gave it a run. Its kinda like the TweakUI component of Windows XP Power Toys in that it wraps a GUI around a bunch of system setting options.

The program has 6 categories of settings that can be edited and each has sub-categories within it.

  • Kernel
  • Platform
  • CPU
  • Memory
  • User Information

Applicationstweak2

  • Add/Remove
  • Source Editor
  • Third Party Sources
  • Package Cleaner

Startup

  • GNOME

Personal

Some of this might come in handy, but I had hoped it might have a few more controls to uncover some deeper features.  I had really hoped for something that would give me custom control over screen resolution to help me fix my MythTV setup that’s giving me resolution setting trouble.  No such luck.
